Am I alone, here....or does anyone else, hear & feel me??? Why do so many people get into things that they aren't truly "INTO"??? Everybody seems to wanna be a rapper, a singer, a producer, etc. So many singers, who can't truly hold a note and don't understand, nor wish to understand the art...the craft...the basics & foundations. So many "rappers", who don't even know about or even like the Hip-Hop culture...the art or craft of lyrical manipulation and wizardry. So many "beat makers", who have not one clue about the fundamentals of just KNOWING music...LOVING music...LONGING to create soundscapes. Everyone seems to merely want to copy what's done at the present moment...what's "hot, right now"! A true producer, should want to learn & create as many different sounds or genres, as possible and learn as much about the history, in order to be able to create...rather, "carve out"...their own notch (niche), for the future. If you don't really care about or "love" something, how can you possibly succeed in it? Most specifically, within the entertainment & arts field....you create, out of passion & pain! So, there are so many, who...are grassroots musicians, that wanna join American Idol and get mad when they can't fit into the "pop machine"....so many street drug dealers or average "money-getters", who pay what they have to, for the local fame in their towns & cities and get mad, when they're finally told by the BIG DOGS or the mass audience, that they're merely local, copycats, or even, wack....so many "beat makers", who pay for equipment or programs to help them make great sounding copies of the hottest and most popular producers out there and get pissed off, when they can't get a big name to listen to them or when they are told that their music iz average, copycat, or even, wack! Maybe? Possibly? Could it be...that they're not built for this...that it just ain't for them? Some love burning their names in wood...love woodworking class, in school...love making things with wood. Clearly the calling iz carpentry and NOT entertainment! Some love electricity, sketching, drawing, fashion, hair, interior design, helping others, video games, computers, cleaning, gardening, playing, learning, listening, animals, etc., etc., etc.! Those should recognize what they love and go full force, into that field. Those who love and can naturally create...should go into creating. Whatever it iz that you love, one thing iz absolutely true. It Ain't for everybody!
